Pros

- amazing coworkers, very helpful, very approachable - The head of delivery/CTO will be an amazing influence on you - Some of the product managers are really great in requirement breakdown and providing inputs to the dev team

Cons

- No work life balance whatsoever - You are expected to work as per the whims of the senior management team, however relevant or irrelevant it maybe - No respect for front end team, as they treat us differently and pay you low, even lower than the backend interns - Timelines are irrational, and inhuman and then you will be questioned if you fail to deliver

We are sorry to hear that your experience at Soroco was not positive. While we hear your concerns, we would like to address a few of them here: - As a young company, we do have periods of intense work, e.g. UAT / go-live that are >9 hours on a given day, but we have taken steps to ensure that this is not a frequent occurrence. With the introduction of better project management practices and an able team of managers, we have been able to streamline our projects. - At Soroco, we value the contributions of all teams, immaterial of their role or tech. background. We conduct extensive benchmarking exercises to ensure our offers are competitive. The statement that interns are paid more than the front-end team is factually incorrect. We are available to discuss this further, if you’d wish to. Please feel free to email us at people@soroco.com

Pros

Growth - the company has found an area with deep tech where there is a big opportunity to change work experiences for working teams. Everyone is very focused on the business goals to move the company forward. Leadership shares info on how the products / our work is making an impact to customers, and what needs to improve as well. Product and engineering continually trying to improve those areas to benefit the customer experience. 2. Smart people - Soroco definitely has some of the best talent, I work with really smart people and diverse teams, it makes the environment collaborative where learning is a constant.

Cons

Collaborating across time zones can be challenging and leads to long days, but that is expected in a global company that is growing at this fast pace. This is pretty much expected everywhere in organizations globally. The work guidelines allow for comp. offs and flexibility to adjust to varied hours - needs prior discussion and planning with managers though.
