Pros

Everyone that works in this sales chain are liars. SolarCity lowered the DEC's commission from $210-160 per KW. SC says they make up for the difference by paying $8 per hour. I've been short thousands of dollars nearly every pay check. Worked long hours during the hot summer to get ripped off. They have the highest KW bench mark to bonus in the industry. A few guys even bonus. SC pockets the money if you do not bonus.

Cons

The sale chain is like 6-7 deep. This means they are very top heavy taking pay from your sales. It's nuts! Training is horrible. It can be very complicated and new for many people selling energy. Managers feel that folks should get in four days. Constant calls and text from managers demanding more. The only guys making money is the managers. They make $40 per Kw sold. This equates to a 20K-60K pay check for them. Basically you are a slave or you get fired. Their are many great companies out their. SolarCity under pays all their employees so management can retain their heavy bonuses. Horrible place to work. Don't do it.

Pros

Just to quantify my review a bit, I am within the top 10% of inside sales reps within our 12,000 person company. It is a great place to work and people doing well ARE able to make good money here. The executive team ALWAYS has a platform for reps to help make SolarCity a better place every quarter. They involve the top 20 reps each quarter in various ways to help their peers through an interactive group called Team Elite. Executives, VP's, Directors, and Managers are always willing to help and go to bat when there are issues with things that need to be fixed. The direction of the company is consistent and although the company is large, decision makers work as hard as possible to steer the big ship quickly when necessary.

Cons

Knee jerk reactions with decision making at a director level create issues from time to time. Culture has had its ups and downs due to HUGE growth last year and subsequent high attrition rates.
