Pros

Good people to work with. Fun atmosphere if you like rara bell ringing etc.

Cons

• I requested to transfer departments to outside sales where my employment background is and I could have more flexibility schedule wise, is was told no. Was told I could quit and reapply. I would have lost stock options, my pending installs (around 30) and vacation/ sick time if I had done that. • Only $12 base and commission paid on install which takes an average of 4 months • When you leave you are only paid commission on jobs that were installed through your last day • At least 6 month ramp up time to get consistent installs you make only the base during this time (a high percentage of reps never get paid any commission since the job as such high turnover) • Low pay for commission for new reps older reps get paid twice the commission amount • Lowest comp plan I have seen in the solar industry • 40% average cancel rate for jobs, average veteran rep only gets 5 installs a month • No help from the operations side of the business I had jobs sit for 9-11 months stuck from problem to problem and never get installed. • No work life balance

Pros

Just to quantify my review a bit, I am within the top 10% of inside sales reps within our 12,000 person company. It is a great place to work and people doing well ARE able to make good money here. The executive team ALWAYS has a platform for reps to help make SolarCity a better place every quarter. They involve the top 20 reps each quarter in various ways to help their peers through an interactive group called Team Elite. Executives, VP's, Directors, and Managers are always willing to help and go to bat when there are issues with things that need to be fixed. The direction of the company is consistent and although the company is large, decision makers work as hard as possible to steer the big ship quickly when necessary.

Cons

Knee jerk reactions with decision making at a director level create issues from time to time. Culture has had its ups and downs due to HUGE growth last year and subsequent high attrition rates.
