Pros
You will work with some very nice hard working people. The location--office is located in Soho and is across the street from the subway easy to commute to, and fun neighborhood to work in. Depending on your position and department you could learn a lot and move up. Beautiful books and magazines. Add a star if you are a knitter, you will get to meet well known knit designers and contribute your knit designs if you want.
Cons
From my title you can see I wore many hats. They are definitely short staffed. For me I found the position was too production heavy, there was no production manager so in addition to being the senior designer/associate art director I was also the production manager. However I learned a lot and was also shooting, and over seeing/art directing photo shoots so I took the good with the bad. The software and tools we use to do our jobs are very outdated and need to be updated big time. There is some unprofessional behavior at times and turn over is on the high side which can create a frustrating atmosphere at times which can be difficult in such a small office with such a small staff. Luckily most people there are easy to get along with. And on that note, besides me there was no one at the company that held the title “designer” so I am unsure who the “designer” was that left the review titled “designer” but it was not me.
