Pros
-An accelerated path to skill and career growth. You're expected to learn quickly and are given significant responsibilities from the outset relative to comparable agency jobs, especially in entry-level positions. -Access to major brands and social platforms operating across a range of verticals. Opportunities to work across different accounts to gain experience and develop expertise across a number of different client and business types over the course of your tenure. -Opportunities to excel and advance for someone who can move quickly, and learn and work independently. Maturity, self-sufficiency and an ability to see the bigger picture are highly sought-after traits.
Cons
-The same operational challenges of any independent agency (outside the Big Four) seeking to scale in an increasingly competitive landscape. Structural shifts, role adjustments etc. do occur but don't negate the core benefits of the work experience gained here. -This is not a 9-to-5 job and isn't framed as such when you're hired. Payoff for investment of time and energy comes with opportunities for accelerated advancement internally and/or future opportunities outside of SocialCode. Alumni routinely move on to work for Fortune 100 companies and social platforms in positions typically reserved for marketers with much longer tenure and experience. Definitely more of a place for people with a glass-half-full mentality who can avoid getting mired in short-term difficulties.
