Pros

Learned a lot about vehicle graphics Ok providing training in CorelDraw on PC platform

Cons

Low pay was one essential reason for leaving. CorelDraw is the only design software used for signs and vehicle wraps at this sign shop. No Adobe software is used here. Management will offer training in CorelDraw, but there are a multitude of other tasks requiring the ability to be precise, including Pantone color matching, co-cutter operation, and masking. There’s a high expectation level of perfection on specialized tasks not performed daily or weekly, without the benefit of practice and little patience for mistakes. Consistent lead generation for potential future work was a significant problem. The management continually struggled to keep the business going, making it a stressful environment. Management changed shift hours without much notice frequently, making it a challenge to coordinate with other employment.

Slicks Graphics Response

Advice to person whom clearly never worked for Slicks Graphics... Since 2012, we have added the complete Adobe suit to our list of state of the art software to not only design vehicle graphics, but to also rip/produce these graphics. Our industry has always ben a fast paced, busy environment where on the contrary to this additional false opinion of not enough work at times, on countless occasions we are paying our staff overtime rate to help us meet our busy deadlines. In conclusion, this prior review just doesn't add up to the long list of achievements this company prides themselves on accomplishing as leaders in the commercial graphics industry. Unfortunately, we cannot seem to protect or Glass Door reputation from spam reviews, so I would highly encourage anyone interested in vehicle graphics to check out our massive facility in person.

Pros

There is always something to learn. Plenty of room for growth. Fun place to work. A great company that takes pride in its work. You get to see your designs out in the real world.

Cons

Sometimes the hours can be a bit long, but in the end, the team comes together to create an amazing product for the customer

Pros

-One good manager who ran everything and was helpful -got some graphic design experience -widened my skill set

Cons

-did not get experience with a real shop because i was alone every day -blame game -owner is basically absent in most situations -treat employees with no respect -was never given benefits even though i worked for almost an entire year I was hired as an entry level position to help at the sister location. By week two I was running the shop by myself with little to no instruction/training. Upper management is a mess, no one knows what’s going on and they hire secretaries who can’t read calendars. Trying to get a hold of upper management for instruction was almost impossible. I was never informed when clients would be coming in to have work done and then management would proceed to penalize me for the customers dissatisfaction. I had to use money out of my own pocket to make change for customers because price was not discussed until customer would pickup. I would then have to hound management to receive my money back. They don’t offer benefits or sick time in the first year of employment. I worked here for 363 days due to receive benefits on the 365th. I was “let go” in order to not be paid out the benefits that were owed to me. Slicks Graphics had me in a constant state of fear for my job and making even the most minor mistakes. Slicks Graphics had me coming home in tears more days than not. After I was let go Slicks Graphics lied to the state of NJ about the nature of my firing. Delaying my unemployment benefits by multiple weeks, so even when I was not an employee anymore I was still being penalized by the owner. When the owner would come into the shop I worked at he would drink on the job as well. I would not recommend working at this company.
