Pros

The customers i got to speak with

Cons

The "fall in line" attitude regardless of ridiculous rules. Micromanagement was the worst I've ever seen.

Pros

Co-workers are very eager and willing to help and assist new and existing hires. The team dynamic between tech-writers is great, and there are a ton of qualified people across departments who prioritize knowledge transference and make working at Skyward better. Editors and MMS are equally dedicated to their roles and value collaboration and discussion of relevant standards changes. Semi-flexible work environment with standard benefits and PTO. Great entry-level opportunities company-wide.

Cons

Mandatory overtime requirements are viewed as opportunities to "earn more" as part of a project strategy of progressive overload. Standards are strict for writing, but they are ever-changing and not consistent with technical documentation trends. The training process is slow, and the room for growth is limited based on proximity to upper management. Salary is low for the level of micromanaging and harassment that management passes on to those under them. Action tracking is used as a tool to micromanage projects and is used to undermine the work spent researching and meeting with SMEs. 1:1s are used as self-reporting sessions. Management will let you go the day after you submit your two-week notice, while expecting you to prepare your projects for existing team members.
