Pros
Skaled provided me with an amazing opportunity to learn business development best practices from some of the best in the industry. I've used the skills that I learned at Skaled in every job that I've held since working there, and honestly believe that they will be useful for the rest of my working career. Building meaningful relationships from scratch, acquiring cold clients rather than relying on personal relationships, setting business development strategy, selling yourself and your product/service -- all of these are truly essential skills. It was also a tremendous opportunity to work hands-on with entrepreneurs of all stripes, and companies from a variety of industries who are in an exciting stage of growth. I was able to learn a lot about the tech industry during my time there, and cultivate relationships that I still value today. As Skaled is a small company, there is a lot of opportunity to take initiative. I was pushed to take on projects and clients that were outside my comfort zone, and that helped build my professional confidence immensely. Also wanted to mention for my fellow women / POC out there -- although the tech sector (and sales industry) is very white/male dominated, the management at Skaled is very supportive. I was also lucky enough to meet and work with a lot of great women entrepreneurs while there.
Cons
If you are someone who needs a lot of structure in your day-to-day, work this might not be the company for you! (Although things may have changed since I worked there.) As typical in a small company, things change quickly and employees have to adapt and take on many hats sometimes. Putting out fires with clients can be stressful. But that's a given for any kind of client-facing work.
