Cons
Generally 2 appraisal cycles, April and Oct. But it works someting like this: For Apr Batch, i. Notification comes in July (After lot of follow-ups , beggings with the HR. HR is only name sake, the process begins when top management gives the green signal) ii. The notification say, apprial process will begin in Sept and will be applicable from Oct. So your new salary is expected to be credited by Nov. iii. Then comes Sept and your manager forgets the appraisal. Now you do multiple follow ups with your manager. So he listens to you after you have called him 100 times. iv. Then comes october and you think your new salary is gonnal come in Nov. v. By Nov you get nothing and after you ask your HR, she said your manager has not send the appraisal form. vi. In Dec , your manager says, he sent to the boss but boss it busy travelling and let him come back. v. Boss comes back in Jan. vi. By then, your appraisal process is done and you expect new salary in feb. vii. In feb HR telle you no final confirmaton from management. It will be done by 10th. viii. By 10th you get extra pay and HR tells you to forget other months. ix. Then comes March and the new batch starts the same routine.. Variable pay is just a fake number on your apprisal letter (if you ever get it).
