Pros
There are some really great people at Situation. There is a lot of passion, a lot of energy, and a lot of genuine care for the shows they are marketing. Most of the people are truly doing their best and working their butts off.
Cons
It is an extremely difficult environment to be creative. This is the case with many agencies, but at the end of the day, process wins over everything else at Situation. It feels like people are required to perform their competency, rather than trusted to do their work. This may be a great place to start as a very young creative and work your way up, but it is a very difficult place to fit into if you already know the way you work and trust yourself and your aesthetic. There is no true HR team at Situation. This means there is a profound lack of understanding of what equity, diversity, and inclusion means. When a women's networking group was proposed it was only given the green light when the organizers agreed to have it open to men, so as to be "inclusive." I don't believe anyone is being willfully discriminatory, but they are definitely behind the times when it comes to what inclusion looks and feels like.
