Pros

Some co-workers are great to work with; especially ones in other departments. Other departments really seem to enjoy their jobs. Other peer developers are also nice and helpful.

Cons

There has been a lot of turnover at Veriship/Sifted in the last 2+ years. The ones who left were the ones who created the culture that used to exist here (open, collaborative, supportive, eager to spread knowledge). When they left they took the ideas and leadership they had with them. The ones who were promoted to their positions have done a poor job of filling in their shoes. Developers promoted to lead positions and other higher positions are not technically skilled enough to make good decisions and don't have the leadership skills to lead others. Some leads are abusive to their junior devs (bullying, cursing at them, etc.), creating an awkward working environment. Leadership that has recently come in with the Veriship/Sifted merger also struggle to be effective leaders. They do not encourage collaboration and haven't helped fill the leadership vacuum that exists. Under them, work is not well planned and developers are compelled into working overtime in order to meet artificial deadlines. Sifted is not a "leave work at work" workplace.

Pros

Leadership alignment is real here. What you hear in an all-hands actually matches what plays out week to week. That's rarer than it sounds. The culture is genuinely good for a sales org. People compete but they're not weird about it. There's a trust level between teammates that you don't always get when quota pressure is involved. If you take ownership and build things, people notice. The opportunity is there, you just have to go get it.

Cons

Your pipeline is your responsibility. Nobody is going to hand it to you, if you're waiting on inbound to save you, this isn't the place. Like any sales org, it's a what-have-you-done-for-me-lately environment. Last month doesn't matter much. Just expect to always be pushed toward your best and you'll be fine.
