Pros
Compensation is great. Benefits are middle of the road. They have a pension. Plant Supers and Assistant Supers are great people and very knowledgable. Japanese employees are very polite, kind, and helpful.
Cons
Toxic work environment from plant manager. Yelling and belittling is a daily occurrence. People sit on information in fear of the backlash, which creates a worse situation. (Not that bringing the issues up really does any good.) Maintenance management is very weak technically and in people management. (Most maintenance personnel are actually incredibly good at what they do.) Program roll-outs are not completely thought through and executed in a sloppy manner. Seems like management read a book and now they are trying to implement. CEO and President claims safety and environment are #1 in the company. However, these departments are composed of a maximum of 2 people. What is said by global top management is not what is taking place at the plant level.
