Pros

Great teamwork, nurses have great representation from the union (UNAC-SPNN), and competitive wages (recently improved as of 2026). Fair sick time, benefits, and attendance policy. Excellent opportunities for career advancement through in-service, entity classes, tuition reimbursement, and partnership with Guild which offers some graduate degrees that are partially or completely covered depending on the program/university.

Cons

The higher levels of management have demonstrated an unrealistic perspective about staff, misrepresenting our wages in news interviews and difficult to work with when trying to resolve issues with the union. Mixed messages about the financial state of the company resulting in layoffs while simultaneously bidding on expansion projects and building multiple new, state-of-the-art facilities.

Pros

Structured learning. You will learn CBT and DBT very well and be comfortable providing psychoeducation to a group.

Cons

Minimal opportunity for individual therapy experience, even less for accruing family therapy hours. It was not a very supportive place for me as a grad student. Fostered competition and anxiety.
