Pros

Since its located in a small town, the hospital atmosphere is quite similar. Some really great nurses and support staff, honestly surprised they've stayed there so long.

Cons

the pay is comical, upper management line their inadequately educated pockets, while the staff get crumbs. Working conditions are horrific, expected to run a skeleton crew because for one reason or another, not many new nurses are being hired. Most departments do not have adequate supplies on hand, and the finance team doesn't seem to understand how departments like ER, OR, Cath Lab cannot work like that. Obtaining anything new (ie. furniture, printer, even a FILE CABNIET) is like asking them to pay for it out of their own pocket, while the front office gets everything new, whenever they want it. Very High turnover rate, the only staff that stays are the ones that don't work!!!! literally.... because they know they couldn't get away with it anywhere else, and instead of disciplining those who need they harp on the ones that don't. Staff cannot speak their frustrations in regards to being over worked or under staffed because they do NOT care!!!! Valid complaints are absolutely disregarded by the Directors of certain IMPORTANT departments because it involves a close "friend" of theirs. ****Back Stabbers, all about being liars and brown nosers.

Pros

Mostly great co-workers. If administration would really care it could be a great place to work. But until that changes I wouldn't recommend working here.

Cons

The pay is low. Inadequate staffing on every floor. Some managers don't back up staff, the ones who do back you up often leave to go elsewhere as they don't get any back up from hospital administration.. Administration doesn't care about employees either. There are several people in managerial positions they shouldn't be in. CNO only has associates degree and has really no business being in that position. There is this 'good old boy' mentality which is never a good environment to work in. If you make waves in any shape or form they want to get rid of you.
