Pros
Being an engineer at Service, you receive a high degree of autonomy and ownership over a diverse set of projects, throughout the product lifecycle. I've had the opportunity to develop experience with a broad set of skills/technologies, in a way that may not be possible in a more traditional, boxed-in role. The fast pace of the company and growing landscape continue to provide exciting, new technical challenges and keep the role interesting. Upper management consistently demonstrates trust in individuals to take on new responsibilities and technical challenges, and present sound guidance when useful or needed. The team works very well together and has a strong spirit of collaboration and cooperation.
Cons
The fast pace and high autonomy can take some adjusting, but the team and leadership are generally helpful with this transition. The smaller team and fast pace can lead to longer hours when significant projects are up against a tight deadline.
