Pros

Good and easygoing people to work and banter with. Everyone's dedicated to their jobs. Employer matches up to 3% of your RRSP contributions, and monthly cakes for birthdays and work anniversaries are a bonus. Working hours are good, and OTs are only far in between in my case. Benefits overall are decent compared to other companies. Experiencing rapid growth and fast paced, albeit being old school in management philosophy and work culture. HR is trying its best to change that, and is willing to listen to suggestions and comments.

Cons

As the parent company in Kansas City just changed hands from one venture capital firm to another, the requirement to do even more with even less is leading to more office politics (nothing new here - however it's not Machiavellian compared to a certain Vancouver-based competitor). No MSP coverage. Only willing to give the standard vacation amounts as per the government regulations, whereas other places readily offer more weeks and sometimes unlimited paid vacation time. Salary is decent but slightly below average, and you will need to negotiate before you start. However there is an annual increase to cover the "standard of living increases" which is welcome in an expensive city such as Vancouver.
