Pros

Games at 4pm online like Scribbl and some other ones. Apparently you can expense some free lunches (note you will be on cam while eating lunch at a 12pm meeting in your calendar).

Cons

I joined Secoda .co as their first marketing lead, and was immediately thrown into a daily standup with engineering (all 3 of them and one social/business co-founder) and a weekly sprint. There was literally no time to strategize at all in this place. Warning: They are very young founders. One appears to be around 14. Before I'd even started I was getting pounded by messages from one of the two co-founders about whether I'd managed to get into their slack channels. or looked at their notion workspace. Went a bit like this: Day 1: 9am-10am, attend this weekly engineering sprint. Where they brainstorm things and put it into a trello type board of things they want to push out or bug crush. I was given some onboarding document, in notion., fill in the required items and read some literature on the business. Sign up for the database widget and explore the app somewhat... 12pm live video camera lunches! Yay, everyone gets to sit there and watch other people eat. 4pm: Another live video call this time it's masquerading as as 'break time' with some games, but it's just another way to make sure you haven't left your kitchen island or something... Day 2: 9am stand up (sit down) again where talking about how many bugs they crushed the day before any blockers etc. 12pm same live video lunches. 4pm 'break time' Day 3: Same thing as the previous days before with slight changes in what they worked on. with one programmer starting to look disinterested with his hair all stuck up like he just got out of bed. Day 4: Meeting got moved about so missed the first bit of that, but it seems like you have to be awake at 6am just in case you miss something. Rest of the day is the same format. Like some drill. Day 5: Friday comes phew, however it's the same format as the previous 4 days except at 4pm they do a retro, which is telling everyone what you worked on again for the past 4 days. This lasted 9 days before I was let go, based on the fact I didn't 'meet' their values. Well I don't know who values having a life before wake, sleep, work, zoon/hangout, sprint, wake, work, no time to think kind of cultures...I was getting called at 6;30pm by the co-founder person #2 to see what I was doing. He also sent a message a few more times during the first week to ask what's going on. It's also a pretty immature company with fun being poked at you because you might not know some random programming jargon in their 'game/break time' events they run at 4pm, where they call all laugh at your lack of programming knowledge as apparently you should know this being in marketing etc. I would say Secoda.co internet database discovery widget company is the worst place I've ever worked at. If you last longer than 10 days you're winning!

Pros

High autonomy: There's a lot of freedom to own your work and make a real impact. Exciting industry & growth: The company is in an exciting field and growing quickly, which creates a lot of opportunities. Strong team culture: The team is dedicated and supportive, and everyone works hard for the collective success.

Cons

Growth pains: As a young company experiencing rapid growth, there are some organizational growing pains, but it's a chance to help build things from the ground up. Developing leadership: Leaders are learning on the fly, which means some processes and coaching styles aren't fully established.
