Pros

Remote, flexible, get to know the realistic day to day life of a physician/PA, learn medical terminology, apply medical terminology, increase typing speed, get to know a specialty in depth, building community within the company through Employee Empowerment Groups (Women in Leadership and Multicultural Professional Network), referral program, and great benefits!

Cons

Could only think of 2: Limited specialties depending on your area and possibility of clients choosing AI instead of scribes (this happened to me personally, but note that a lot of clients prefer scribes to AI),

Thank you for taking the time to leave us this review. This is why being a medical scribe is such a great experience as you really do get to see firsthand how medicine functions, which is something you really can’t get from other jobs or volunteer work. While having some prior medical experience can be very helpful, at ScribeAmerica we are very proud to offer such in-depth classroom training with ScribeU and floor training program to help prepare all our employees to work as a scribe. We do our best to train our scribes to become solo, and try to train for every scenario. We truly value that this is a great opportunity for those looking to further education by going to Medical School/PA School/etc. Depending on the area you work in, we always recommend working with your direct supervisor to determine if you are able to be cross-trained in a different specialty of medicine, or at another facility, so that you are always seeing unique cases and continuing to grow in your role.

Good clinical experience for those who are taking a gap year or preparing for medical school.

The onboarding and training process is going to take about 2 to 3 months for some locations.

Pros

I believe there's flexibility in some hours. Paid training.

Cons

My onboarding process has taken over 2 months and I've only clocked in for mandatory trainings with little to no communication from managers or hiring staff. $10 an hour.
