Good for experience.... but not good for longterm employment - Chief Scribe ScribeAmerica Employee Review

Pros

ScribeAmerica offers experience in a healthcare environment with a very low barrier to entry. The experience I gained from this job has been invaluable in terms of opening my eyes towards life in a medical profession. I recommend this company highly if you're looking for clinical experience in healthcare and a short-term job with flexible hours while in school.

Cons

The pay is low... even, and particularly, if you are promoted to small management roles such as a chief scribe where you are expected to interview, train, hire, maintain compliance, and perform quality assurance on a team of scribes ranging anywhere from 4-35 people. Due to the low barrier of entry you are very expendable and the company knows this as they are typically hiring from a pool of students who are future MDs, DOs, PAs, and ARNPs with strong work ethics and paying them small salaries as they are all in need of clinical experience and willing to work for little. The company is very frugal, to put it nicely, so no matter how valuable your experience/knowledge/know-how of a ScribeAmerica contracted site they will likely not reward it.

Pros

I believe there's flexibility in some hours. Paid training.

Cons

My onboarding process has taken over 2 months and I've only clocked in for mandatory trainings with little to no communication from managers or hiring staff. $10 an hour.
