Pros
Fantastic for learning about patient care and the basics of medical decision making first hand. The job can be extremely fast paced with an emphasis on speed with accuracy and efficiency which some individuals seem to find negative for some reason. However, as a hopeful future doctor I find that to be not only beneficial, but also a rewarding challenge in simply getting good at a major part of medicine today. (As an aside, if you have no aspirations of working in medicine you really should never be working as a scribe in the first place). Scribe America also has a very extensive training program, which once again the other reviewers seem to be trashing. It has been described as rigorous but to be completely honest, if you're finding the training too demanding and pace of floor training to be too much you probably shouldn't go in to medicine. And if you shouldn't be going into medicine, you shouldn't be doing this job.
Cons
Pay isn't great and we are almost never approved for overtime so working full time with scribing as sole source of income isn't really possible. This is also truly a job only for those with hopes of going into some field of medicine. Lastly, extremely "corporate" feeling to the job with odd regulations and restrictions as well as frequently miscalculated paychecks.
