Pros

Exposure to interesting projects and given big responsibilities for your qualifications. Some good American colleagues. The benefits are not bad, good amount of vacation and flexible hours.

Cons

Unbelievably sexist, racist and inapropiate in every level. The pay is below market, raises are not easy to get even if they praise you at your performance review. The company is falling apart, it's hard to get information or get anything done, communication is a nightmare and makes the job a lot more difficult than it should be. Corporate makes unreasonable demands and the hours can get crazy for people in certain positions. I could go on and on... If your kids are going hungry and you have no other choice you may be able to put up with this place, but know that one day, someone with more time and more balls than me is going to sue them for harassment.

Pros

Great responsibility for offshore operations and quay-side mobilizations. Less technical role (no direct engineering performed), but more so, practical experience-driven when executing onsite.

Cons

Lots of reading and writing (Purchase Requests>Purchase Orders>Final contracts). Bureaucratic procurement (SAP and Word/Excel heavy) and poor interdepartmental follow-up: you have to do the follow-up when the assigned project inspector and expeditor (POSE) don't follow up on your PO. High workload.
