Pros
Students, Hard Working Teachers, and Parent Voluntters
Cons
Leadership - If they were a good leader, they left sometime after May 2019. Penny Eucker is the head of the school and is the main reason for the huge turnover that occurs every year at stem. After the 2018/19 school year, more than half of the elementary teachers left and even more in secondary. Last school year (2020/21), all but three admin quit, many midyear, and only a few teachers stayed in secondary. All but one primary teacher left as well. Three teachers went on maternity leave last year and only one came back. The other two quit mid year. This is the third school/district I have worked at. I had never heard of a teacher quitting mid year until I started at STEM. Every year I worked at STEM multiple teachers/admin quit midyear. It's not the parents. It isn't the students. It is the leadership. I don't write this review out of hatred but concern for what could be a great school. If you are a parent at STEM, keep demanding for change from the top down. If you are considering work here, I would highly consider looking somewhere else.
