Good first time job - improvements needed for long-term career - Business Analyst STEM Healthcare Employee Review

Pros

The relaxed office environment is definitely the biggest positive of working here, everyone is very friendly and willing to help out. People are also very intelligent and if you're proactive in asking, you can learn a lot about pharmaceuticals which is applicable to other jobs in the pharma world (consulting, health comms etc). The onboarding training is very well run and allows people to comfortably get up to speed with the work. Provides client exposure which as a first job is very important. I would recommend this as a first-time job if someone has never been exposed to working life

Cons

The salary is very low (compared to similar roles in other companies) and doesn't justify the amount of work put in, especially during the 'busy period' which requires people to stay very late e.g. 9 pm/10 pm If you want to go into coding or other analytical roles it will be very hard as this role doesn't use software most jobs require and trying to get your foot in the door without this exposure will be very difficult - only PowerPoint & Excel is used. There is no consistency in the way people are promoted, many feel that there is deep-rooted nepotism within the company. There aren't long-term career prospects

Pros

If you are not expecting to work full time, the field specialist role is perfect for former semi-retired pharma reps or DMs looking for part time work.

Cons

It can be too little work at times and then it can get busy. Hard to plan. The daily rate is low for the industry.

Pros

Room for growth if you are in with right people.

Cons

It becomes a favorites club for promotions and often management will pressure people to take roles they don’t want.
