Pros

Company may finally be serious about implementing some changes, but good employees had to leave for that to happen. If you negotiate well upon hire, it's a consistently salary until the contract ends. They have a lot of jobs! That should tell you something. Someone once occupied that job and left. It's likely not because they weren't good or qualified. If you love to gossip, there's a great rumor mill that's always spilling out company secrets and HR stuff, thanks to a few select employees. You can use this as an opportunity to network with the respectible DoD contractors and earn some clout. Since everyone is always looking for a new job at this company, you can always be assured someone may have a hot job lead. It's a revolving door so your going to make a lot of new friends. Invite former co-workers, especially the ones you hated before.

Cons

The company as a whole is a CON. While I respect the CEO of the company, management and directors undermine him constantly and effectively run the company into the ground. If you do resign before they eventually are going to lay you off, you will get the silent treatment until your last day. Your going to constantly be meeting, interviewing and hiring new people. It's a collateral duty of which you will bill the government under your normal time. The junior staff (that they won't get rid of because they need warm contract bodies to fill slots), will constantly undermine you and spread rumors. If your into that, let me know how that works out for you when you come back here to post your negative review. They will make attempts to ruin your reputation with vendors, government personnel or even future employers if you leave or talk negatively about the company.

A lot of issues to address here, so let me start at the top: Solute does not hire people solely for the length of a contract. We hire talented individuals for the long-term and work diligently to make sure there are follow-on contracts for them to continue working when an existing contract comes to its conclusion. We DO have a lot of job openings, but that is because of the massive growth the company is experiencing. Our turnover rate is commensurate with our industry, and we have seen a reduction year over year in turnover given the increased opportunities and positive culture of our workforce. The C-Level executives, Directors, and Managers work together very closely to run the company and there is a large degree of transparency between layers of management. Solute's CEO is an accomplished business leader who has a very firm hand in the dealings of the business and the company's business strategy, which all of the management of the company strictly adheres to. Each employee must fill out paperwork, should they choose to leave the company and is given an exit interview with HR where the employee is asked about their experience and any concerns they have. We simply couldn't do this if we were giving someone trying to leave the company the silent treatment. Solute adheres to strict government regulations when it comes to billing the government and we take this responsibility very seriously. Solute, like all companies, has both senior, mid-level, and junior members of the staff. We value our employees as individuals and each one is brought on to the team to provide specific skill sets that are necessary for completing projects. Each applicant goes through a significant vetting process to ensure only top talent is hired into the organization. Just as importantly, we hire people that fit our culture; Solute is a positive place to work where top technologists collaborate on hard problems with cutting edge technologies.
