Pros

This is a government agency but without the bureaucracy. Has caring staff from the call takers to upper management

Cons

Building is a little small for all of the people. A larger building would be nice.

Pros

Dispatching is great-helping people, the crews, etc. A lot of very intelligent people working hard to keep our citizens, deputies/officers, fire fighters, ems, etc. safe. Some step way up to try & fix issues & help this place.

Cons

All the new systems the past couple years, lackluster training for the job itself because they’re so desperate for trainers they use new employees to train new employees. Lack of training for the new medical call processing/dispatching system. Ridiculous amounts of overtime (most employees are over 100+ hours so far this year-some are at 200-500 hours already) , admin doesn’t care about employees-their health, mental or physical or any suggestions employees make-it’s all about the numbers. Retention is horrible-lost 25-30 employees in 2017-at least half stayed in the industry just went to other agencies. Don’t plan on having any sort of social life or time with friends & family-it’s damn near impossible. Be prepared for derogatory statements on the floor from admin towards shifts/crews, etc. Word is an employee in the front office was fired when she brought questionable/illegal practices being asked of her by admin. to the director.
