Pros

Well established and proven in the market. Good relationship with LM from whom I recently retired and with whom I prefer to work. As an LM employee I contracted several SM&A individuals, all of whom where high quality individuals and performed well. As a 1099 employee starting in May 2016, I gained better insight into the leadership and am equally impressed and pleased.

Cons

As a 1099 employee, it took asking several people before I found the one that knew how the 1099 employee pay system worked. Specifically, I did not know if taxes were being withheld, especially since I was required fill out a W-4 form when I hired on, but it doesn't even apply to a 1099 employee. Realistically, in the big picture, this is only a nit.
