Sirva typically pays “slightly” above market rate for their consultants compared to competitors. However, they will push you beyond your capacity and make you do what a “5 person job” is by yourself. There is no support from upper management, and they expect you to figure it out yourself. Its hard for them to promote people within the company (especially if you are local), it helps if you are European, you might get a promotion faster than people who have been with the company more than 5 years. They would also rather hire new people than look inside the company. If you are good at what you do, be sure to be in that position for 5 years or more. I have colleagues who have been doing the same thing for over 7 years. They have approached management for opportunities to grow and move onto other things but this has never happened. There is no HR and it all stems down to price cutting or being able to withstand during tough financial crisis. I think at least one HR person would suffice?
