Pros
They hire if you had no previous banking experience. A good, steady job with great insurance and 401k. Paid time off and sick leave. Lots of employee parties and potlucks. SESLOC is very charitable and does lots of good for the community
Cons
The pay is not as good as other credit unions/banks. None of the branches are ever on the same page about policies/procedures which leads the tellers to being yelled at, understandably. The branch I work in has a very negative and awkward environment due to drama and management. Unrealistic sales goals. VERY high turnover rate.. I believe due to management. They say they like to promote within but in the year I've been working here, I only saw it happen one time, every other time they hire outside when plenty of my coworkers were capable of the promotion. The members can be verbally abusive when they're upset and management does nothing about it even though during training they tell you they don't allow that type of behavior from members. The training is pointless. It's paid but they teach you nothing useful to your job. They teach you about upper management's names and their job roles for a whole week. When you actually go in, you feel completely unprepared and they just throw you out there to make mistakes.
