Pros

Salaries were good for this area where FT professional jobs are hard to come by. Good benefits and you can take your dog to work.

Cons

The CEO has a bad reputation locally and it's well deserved. He acts like Steve Jobs (temper tantrums and yells) but doesn't have Jobs' genius to command respect. He hires recent college grads because they don't have the experience to know that the way this company is run is not right. Stress levels were very high -- the COO snuck out every 20 minutes to smoke a cigarette and was popping aspirin like candy. There was no clear job description, no tour of the building even, and management expected people to read their minds and immediately understand the company culture and style. There was no time for assimilation or room for error. And don't ever ask a question! You're supposed to google anything you don't know. I was very glad to leave.

Pros

Generally when a workplace touts itself as drama free and dedicated to honesty, those statements are so dry you could start a fire with them. In my experience, however, these are genuine traits of the SCOTTeVEST atmosphere. Being able to bring your dog to work with you (and being able to take them out when they need to go) is great - you know you're not leaving your best friend alone at home crated all day (and your trash will stay safe at home while you're not there to guard it). The friendly atmosphere encourages and fosters actual friendship with your coworkers through weekly get togethers outside of work (a company perk includes the company covering costs for food and drink at a local bar - with excellent food, might I add - when 3 or more employees are together). The product is worth selling! As an employee, you also get a small clothing allowance every few months so that you can acquire some of the clothing to wear whether at work or in your personal life. The area is beautiful - if you're in to hiking and adventuring and skiing, it's the perfect location.

Cons

The area is a little remote - it's about an hour's drive to the closest Walmart, so you'll need to learn how to minimize shopping trips. Meetings with management can prove frustrating if you are not accustomed to being spoken to bluntly. Not rudely - but bluntly. Typically, they are quick to the point rather than dragging out the conversation.
