Pros

My interactions were mostly with the tech side of the organization so a part of the review might not be helpful for all. Having said that the following are the pros i experienced - 1. Great opportunity to learn about the loyalty business and understand the canadian market in general. 2. An opportunity to work with some really smart and kind people. 3. Great opportunity to solve a variety of problems since Scene works with partners from spaces like banking, retail and entertainment. 4. Good work life balance and good paid time off too. 5. You get a Cineplex Premiere card which lets you watch movies for free and lets you access the game room for free too. Also, you get a code every week to watch any movie from the cineplex app/website.

Cons

1. Constant layoffs - you never know if you are next. There is always a sense of anxiety among the employees. 2. Low pay - The salary could be better 3. Constant change in work tools - During my time we constantly switched between different tools due to affordability/flexibility which added additional work.

Pros

- Location is prime with easy access to transit.

Cons

-Burnout culture is thriving at Scene+. Management actively celebrates overworking. Working evenings and weekends isn't just common; it’s an unstated requirement. Burnout is treated as a milestone & true dedication rather than a red flag. - There is a total lack of department-wide cohesion. Teams are frequently pitted against one another, and clear "favouritism" is displayed during town halls, when giving recognition on campaign launches, within funnelling promotions and overall resources; while the rest of teams are left to struggle with crushing workloads. - Consistent unrealistic expectations & chaos rule directions. Alignment is non-existent. Direction changes at the last minute based on partner demands, yet employees are expected to deliver results "with a snap of the fingers." This is coupled with heavy micromanagement from VPs who clearly do not trust their teams to execute. - While they like to say member focus is a key pillar, the company’s primary objective is the happiness and profits of the partners, often at the direct expense of employee well-being. - The turnover is so high that three years of tenure makes you a "veteran." This speaks volumes about the long-term viability of a career here.
