Pros

Talking with customers and not stuck at a desk all day. Other than that there’s no Pros.

Cons

Employees are not given the training or resources to have the best opportunity to succeed. - direct boss was at the Columbus Ohio location and never helped with training. -Direct boss never picked up the phone when I called with questions. On atleast 3 occasions I lost sales because he wouldn’t call me back or return emails. - Direct boss told me to ask other employees questions before I called him (I was the only used truck salesman at my location and the other employees either couldn’t help me or were too busy) - For my 6 month review I scolded and given negative remarks because I “asked other employees questions”. - Direct boss never showed me how to use CRM nor did he explain that I had a certain quota to meet as far as entries and quotes. He gave me negative remarks on my 6 month review about not meeting the CRM entries. The inventory was terrible and hard to sell. -The trucks at the Parma Ohio location were not advertised on Truckpaper.com nor on any website. -At most the used inventory was around 5 to 7 vehicles, which all had the Maxxforce engine. Box trucks were odd lengths like 30ft or 32ft with spring suspension or a refrigeration truck that had the refrigerated unit taken off but everything else remained. - I thought outside the box and sold a customer a box truck and had the box taken off and a dump body installed, after the truck was finished and sale was final my boss told me to never do that again (Rush made over $10,000 profit on sale). When I was actually told what Rush expected I hit every quota and goal set for me but I was fired because my direct boss didn’t like me on a personal level. On the day I was fired I sold 2 trucks and had deposit money for 3 other trucks and it was the first week of the month. My boss always turned down offers lower than asking price but almost always excepted other salesmen’s offers below asking. Every truck I sold was either at the listed asking price or OVER the listed asking price. I was fired for a petty personal reason that I still haven’t figured out. So it doesn’t matter how many vehicles you sell or how good you are as a sales representative, if the boss doesn’t like you for some small petty reason you will be fired.

Pros

If you like working 24/7/365 you will do great here.

Cons

Upper management is out of touch, using earned PTO is frowned upon, turnover is very high company wide. 401k match is abysmal, PTO is less than market average, no sick time until first anniversary, expensive healthcare premiums.
