Pros
Despite this, some genuinely good people work here in the teaching and admin staff.
Cons
Rugby School presents itself as a prestigious institution, but beneath the surface, it is plagued by poor leadership, a lack of strategic vision, and an entrenched culture of favouritism. Decisions are often made based on personal relationships rather than merit, leading to an environment where certain individuals are promoted while others, no matter how talented, are sidelined. Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion are merely buzzwords here, with little to no real commitment to fostering a diverse or inclusive workplace. Instead, misogyny, racism, and classism are deeply ingrained in the organisation, making it a challenging and disheartening place for anyone who doesn’t fit the school’s traditional mold. Employees who speak out against these issues are either ignored or subtly pushed out. If you are looking for a progressive, forward-thinking institution that values its staff and encourages growth, Rugby School is not the place. Until leadership acknowledges and addresses these deep-rooted issues, real change will remain impossible.
