Pros
It's a great company with a start up feel and open culture. Good work life balance compared with many other tech companies. Smart and talented people who are genuinely nice. I haven't noticed any politics or pettiness/bureaucracy - compared to many other companies I've consulted too. It's small enough (75 people) to know everyone & has a family feel to it. As a contractor I have never been treated so well- felt part of the team from day 1. The office, location and physical amenities are amazing. The work is challenging and stimulating with a good variety across many projects and some awesome hack days. The leaders are awesome- very open and authentic. They genuinely listen and tell it like it is. It's an open plan office so you can talk to them anytime you want. They actively seek input and feedback to the company strategy from everyone including contractors. There is no office hierarchy – a flat structure. It's a small enough company to have a voice and be listened to - you're not a little fish in a big pond. It's inspiring to work with such smart people solving real world problems and being part of both KEI and SIRCA
Cons
- It's a lean organisation so you need to be able to both be strategic and be willing to roll up your sleeves. There isn't space for people with big egos who aren't used to making their own coffee - I don't see this as a con but some people might. - Folk who don't cope well with change and a fast moving company may not like it as there is a lot of change but I see this as a good thing. I - It's a lean, agile company who are closely watching dollars - so if you are used to travelling first class this would not be for you - staff though are treated really well with free daily breakfast, all day snack bar, BBQ lunches, drinks, movies, ice cream and many other perks.
