Pros

Interesting product line, I have learned all aspects of how a truck works which helps broaden my scope of knowledge. It's good to have experience like this so it can be applied to other companies that might specialize in one of the fields. There is a lot of room for growth here. You can come into this company with no college degree and make your way up the ranks just through experience. This is very beneficial to people who want to grow in their career but don't want to go back to college. Not many companies would hire you on as a drafter and allow you to become an engineer without a bachelor's degree. If you want job security this a great location to work. They won't fire you they will just get you to do a mundane task during the down times.

Cons

No engineering processes, Sales drives everything. There is a very "just get it done" attitude here which ignores all the processes that are set in place by the parent company. There's things we do here that would never slide if Rosenbauer international in Austria knew about it. No clear directions at all for engineering. We tend to just do anything and everything. I've had to deal with vendors for getting quotes on parts and had no approval from my superiors on budget or pricing. To me this seems like something a designer shouldn't be involved in at all. They have me doing sales and purchasing work for the parts we design. I'm not a fan of the mandatory overtime this company expects of you to grow in the company. I've been denied a promotion because I wasn't coming in work beyond 40 hours. I also don't like the hours that engineering has to come in. 6am is not a good start time for office employees. Rosenbauer has a very unprofessional office environment and is a very toxic workplace. If you are friends with management you can do whatever you want. The employees here swear and complain aloud in the office for everyone to hear and management doesn't care, sometimes they will even join in on the conversation. This is a daily occurrence and it makes it seem like a very unprofessional environment when people can just do whatever they want. This lowers morale and work ethic for everyone.

Pros

Building life saving equipment that protects homes

Company went thru many lawsuits due to upper management not protecting the employees from a predator who prayed upon women.
