      Employees are judged based on the merits

      Cons

      While the company has unlimited PTO, the sheer magnitude of what Root is looking to accomplish and the enthusiasm the employees have for it results in quite a bit of work. By no means does Root ever demand long hours, but I often find myself working them anyways due to the novelty of the problems that need addressing and the excitement around solving them.

      Pros

      Has been the best employee I've had throughout my career, and by far the best insurance company. They are transparent, they care about employees, and if you do your job there are opportunities for growth all over the place.
