Pros

Networking opportunities from the people that Romeo has scammed into believing he is a professional. I recommend making your own contact list for whenever your time here is finished- if you choose to be a slave here.

Cons

• Romeo is desperate, and it reeks into how he “operates” his “business”. It’s very hard for him to give direction, feedback, and be consistent. He throws stuff at the wall essentially hoping it sticks, and won’t allow anyone with actual expertise to do their job. • Very underhanded and manipulative- Universities have banned his internship because it’s so horrible and he tried to throw a former intern under the bus to make up for it. • He says he doesn’t work well with Americans, only international students because they don’t expect to be paid. • He does not pay ANYONE, and if he does it’s not on time. My first week, the landlord came banging on the door demanding the rent…it was the 28th of the month. • THERE ARE NO EMPLOYEES. He SOLELY relies on (1) manager and a team of college interns to do the work for him, from Marketing, Sales, E-Commerce, Styling Pulls, HR, etc etc. Things that people get paid salaries to do! • He lies to universities telling them that he has 4 employees, which is not true. • He drinks on the clock, and often. • He will call you at ALL HOURS. Forget your scheduled time commitment, this is a 24/7 slave trade. Do not let the “clout” of being around cloud your judgement. Any real professional who deals with him does not like him, or appreciate how he handles business. You want to work under someone who is ACCOMPLISHED, not someone who’s 12 years in and still trying to make rent.

Pros

You will get to see the reality of what it’s like to work in the industry full on. Nothing is hidden or overglamorized. You have to be on point and serious about your craft because you will be expected to be knowledgeable on different aspects of production. However, anything you do not know will be shown to you. Very few people in the industry are willing to be as transparent with interns as Romeo is, and for that I am grateful.

Cons

Make sure your schedule is flexible enough to accommodate the work you’ll be doing. Because I had a more rigid schedule I often had work to take with me to be able to meet deadlines that at times could be difficult but I’m the end it was still a great learning experience.

Pros

besides networking with a couple people in the industry (even that he doesn’t want you to do because he feels as though ur taking resources from him) Meeting cool interns

Cons

This internship is completely unprofessional with zero pay. You’re expected to cover your own transportation, both there and back. They don’t care how you get there—as long as you are there, you’re on the clock for 9 hours a day with a 30-minute break, if you even get one. The minute you step away, Romeo starts complaining or calling you. He has a habit of calling at all hours—even once at 2 a.m. to get you to finish something, which is absolutely unacceptable. Beyond that, his behavior is extremely rude. If you ask any questions after receiving little to no explanation, he’ll roll his eyes, sigh loudly, and make snide remarks that make you feel worthless. He seems to expect you to read his mind, and his delusional attitude only adds to the frustration. Instead of treating us like interns—or even as part of a team—he treats us like his personal servants. The entire company seems to run solely off intern labor, with the brand manager being the only real employee. Even she is clearly frustrated with him. I’ve worked with about four brands, and without a doubt, this is the most unprofessional one I’ve encountered. Do not work here unless you’re desperate to boost your resume. It’s simply not worth the experience.
