Pros
Strong brand, excellent for CV. I feel fortunate to have met some remarkable people / characters particularly in the technical areas such as metallurgists and engineers - most of whom are unfortunately overlooked and undervalued.
Cons
I had a truly dreadful experience at Rolls-Royce. Career mismanagement, obnoxious and bullying line management. Procurement is still in the dark ages. Old guard mid-senior management made up of individuals who failed in other functions e.g. Engineering, Finance etc. Career opportunities and progression is reserved for grads to the detriment to experienced hires. A perfect storm of commercial incompetence and nepotism. The only thing that I took away from Rolls-Royce beyond the name on my CV was athletes foot. Steer well clear...
