Cons
During my time with the company, I observed ongoing challenges related to management communication and workplace culture. At times, interactions between ownership, management, employees, and external partners could become tense, including raised voices in high-pressure situations. While there was noticeable improvement over the years, this remained an area with room for growth.
There were also opportunities to strengthen collaborative leadership. Team members were not always encouraged to share new ideas or propose creative improvements, which occasionally limited innovation and forward-thinking initiatives.
Planning and communication surrounding sales, promotions, and product launches were at times inconsistent. Large-scale projects were occasionally assigned late in the week with short turnaround expectations, which created operational strain and contributed to avoidable issues such as pricing errors or uncoordinated launches. These situations understandably increased stress across teams and impacted overall workflow.
Role expectations also evolved significantly over time, with responsibilities expanding beyond original job descriptions. While growth in responsibility can be positive, the adjustments were not always matched with clear communication, support, or compensation alignment, leading some team members to feel overextended.
Internal communication processes, including meeting consistency and email coordination, could be improved to ensure all relevant stakeholders are included and adequately prepared for upcoming initiatives. There were instances where key information was not distributed to all impacted team members, resulting in shortened timelines and reactive strategy adjustments.
Additionally, remote work policies appeared to be applied inconsistently. While some employees were permitted flexibility in emergency situations, others were not offered the same opportunity, and the criteria for these decisions were not clearly communicated.
Overall, the company has strong potential, and with more consistent communication, proactive planning, and transparent leadership practices, the work environment could become significantly more collaborative and sustainable for employees at all levels.
