Pros
- The app could have potential, given the industry it targets and lack of competitors with good apps in that space - Backend API adheres strictly to being vanilla Laravel, with good code coverage for unit tests
Cons
- Product management side of the business is absolutely terrible. Lack of proper sprint planning / kick off, lack of information in epic/story tickets (empty descriptions, lacking of wireframes, no PRD/requirements). This keeps being one of the top 3 issues brought up every sprint review for the past 6+ months - Sprint planning happens after the sprint has already started - They hired a product owner but then shortly after fired her and didn't refill the position; tickets were getting better at that point but then reverted back - High turnover rate for every department - OT / Working on weekends is expected and encouraged - CEO's first time ever dealing with managing a company in the Software Engineering space and doesn't understand the process. He will often complain and rant in Slack - CEO calls Engineers out publicly in Slack saying things like "What am I even paying you for?" - Company has been late in making payments to all employees. During an all hands meeting the CEO was given a list of questions that were submitted anonymously and he avoided answering the majority of them, even making jokes. - Employees weren't notified in any sort of adequate time on the 'delay'. Everyone was informed the day before pay day at the end of the month.
