This is upsetting for all the guys who work at Rockabox, yet somewhat entertaining in its over-the-top story telling. Actually, the person who was tied to a chair and presented with a blow-up doll was the person who contacted us about this review when someone forwarded it to them out of worry. He was mortified that what he saw as a funny moment delivered in good humour by close friends/colleagues for a special occasion, was turned into a fictitious story designed to damage Rockabox by a disgruntled ex employee. Unfortunately every now and then, in any business, you bump into people who have a different take on life. In the 8 years Rockabox has been operating, we’ve only ever had this highlighted case and it’s a shame to see negativity manifest so strongly and in such a calculated way via these reviews. It’s also not often that people don’t pass their probation but in this case it wasn’t possible to retain the individual; we’ve never experienced such a level of base rudeness to fellow workmates; the relief when they were asked to leave was extraordinary. But, it wasn’t a pleasant parting and we were threatened at the time, so though it’s sad to see the level to which the first story goes, we’re anticipating regular reviews at different times from this individual. However, If any of you find yourself considering a role at Rockabox, feel free to pop into the office at any time to talk to those who work here and make this a genuinely lovely place to be.
