A school that espouses traditional values, good character, love of knowledge, and the craft of education. If you are lazy and just want to get by using the same old canned stuff year after year after year (and there are many of those kinds of teachers out there), this place is not for you. Teachers are expected to walk the talk - and that is likely too much for many. The teachers that stay are true masters of their craft.

Teachers are expected to continue learning and refining their lessons and their craft in general. A teacher who thinks that they can rest on their laurels will not be successful long term here.

It is an honor to teach at an incredible school like Ridgeview! RCS does not compromise, either in character or content. Those employees who fall short will always find someone to blame (i.e., leadership), but they actually should just look into a mirror. Like employment everywhere ... if you are unhappy, find another place. A school will not/should not change to make individuals happy - that is impossible. If you are a subject matter expert that wants to share your love with students, want to teach real content (not test prep), want to be surrounded by intellectual peers, want outdoor activities that are not offered anywhere (public or private) ... this is your school. I am beyond fortunate to have found this place.

You are expected to continue learning and growing; you will be intellectually challenged both in and outside of your content areas; you will be surrounded by students who will force you to constantly be on top of your material; you cannot coast; you cannot rely on weeks of test prep to give you a break from your teaching load; by chaperoning outdoor trips you will realize how out of shape you are.
