Not the worst job I've had. - Manager Regal Employee Review

Pros

Decent insurance, it's easy to move up if you just do your job well. Free movies, and all the popcorn and soda you can handle.

Cons

Corporate is full of people that have never worked in a theater before. Loads of micromanaging. Lots of fishy stuff going on when it comes to booking films. For instance: they will dump art house movies on you without any notice so you have no chance to promote with at least a trailer and poster. They will never give you a straight answer when questioned. Lately they've been making a lot of foolish business decisions.

Pros

The initial role offers good experience in sales and customer service, but the benefits are overshadowed by internal management failures.

Cons

The primary issue lies in the disconnect between local management and corporate HR, specifically regarding off-boarding and payroll accuracy. I submitted a formal two-week notice which was reportedly never filed by my manager. This resulted in an "ineligible for rehire" status despite my following all proper protocols. Furthermore, communication from Corporate is inconsistent and contradictory. I was told both that my notice was received but my two weeks were incomplete, and then later told that no notice was submitted at all. Even with physical proof of attendance (after a manager failed to adjust a manual clock-in as promised) and proof of the submitted notice, Corporate refused to correct the record.
