Pros

Flexibility to fit work around your home life when needed with work from home etc. Nice office environment when you're in the office, everyone gets on. When I was going through the interview process they were talking to me about "refract people" and it's true - there's definitely a type of person they recruit into the business. Plenty of egos but they're not really egotistical. Great technology and although not for everyone, it really makes a difference to those that embrace it and it's quite an up and coming field. Great tools used internally like slack etc. Everyone has a company credit card for those little expenses that crop up.

Cons

No office parking that's free for those that want to drive, but that's what it's like working in the city centre! The office is on the outskirts of the city centre so still a bit of a walk if you want to go shopping at lunch time.

Pros

Refract is a young but exciting company to be at in the North East. There can't be many other start up software companies in Newcastle at this present moment with such an exciting future ahead combined with being a great place to work. The company promotes a flexible, easy going, but hard working culture, with a real sense of team-ethic. One of the best things about Refract is the leadership's philosophy of being open and transparent with the whole business, where everyone genuinely has a say in strategic business decisions and the company's future success.

Cons

Refract is still relatively early stage, and as such - there are no hiding places for those who just see the company as another place to work. This is not necessarily a 'con' as such, but an indicator as to the working environment you will be going into, as well as what is expected of you.

Pros

The company is in a really exciting marketplace and already a leader in the field. A close-knit team, everyone is really passionate about the Refract's potential and making it happen. A relaxed but driven working environment where we practice what we preach when it comes to coaching and enabling our people. New ideas, methods and ways of thinking are always welcomed and usually embraced.

Cons

You have to make at least one brew round a day...
