Job pays, but bullying and favoritism are issues - MLT/MLS Reading Hospital Employee Review

Whether you continue to pursue a career in the lab field or not, I think this is a job you can learn a lot in.

As in any job, there can be conflicts with coworkers that usually diminish over time. Off shifts occasionally go through phases of high turnover rates (the only pro to this is for the people who want over time there is incentive rates)

Pay was better than expected and I worked with a great group of nurses.

In order to keep pay “level,” you were expected to conduct research or improvements for either the unit, or hospital (based on level). If you didn’t comply, they would drop you down a level, which translated to roughly a 10% pay decrease. I’m not sure if this is still in practice.
