Used to be good.. pretty bad now - Electrician ReVision Energy Employee Review

Pros

4 day work week, flexible with PTO

Cons

Poor management at all levels, executives sold the company to the employees (ESOP/“employee owned”) but they still make all of the decisions and collect the highest salaries. If you don’t fit in with the higher ups, regardless of how hard you work or how much money you bring in, they will find an excuse to fire you or lay you off. The installers are the fifth worst paid positions in the whole company- but also the ones that bring in all the money. Extremely disappointing especially when so much of their marketing is about ‘making lives better’ and touting their employee ownership. Very low pay.

ReVision Energy Response
1y
Since the solar industry came under attack during the 2024 presidential campaign and demand for commercial projects declined, many solar companies have gone bankrupt and many others have been forced to layoff people to survive. This disgruntled electrician appears to be lashing out about the fact that ReVision Energy is not immune to these market forces and has had to layoff 85 people since the election. Our pay scale and benefits are at or above the industry average, plus co-owners have the opportunity to build long-term wealth through the Employee Stock Ownership Plan. As a B Corp, ReVision provides wage transparency and the vast majority of the Company's ~400 workers are okay with compensation across the company's workforce. Management has an open door policy for people to air grievances but for some unfortunate reason this person has chosen an opaque, anonymous approach to griping. We invite you to come discuss your issues to find a resolution instead of hiding digitally in public.

Pros

PTO and mental health days were encouraged, leadership supported open communication, and team leads had input in SOP development. Even in a remote setting, communication was frequent and effective.

Cons

Quick growth led to frequent structural and process changes. The industry’s reliance on (political) incentives and policy shifts also contributed to workload fluctuations and layoffs.

Pros

Best overall culture of anywhere I've worked. Employee ownership creates a sense of collective responsibility to colleagues.

Cons

Leadership constantly reinventing the wheel towards efficiency to the detriment of efficiency.
