Pros
Cool ML-centred products. Solid tech stack (Go, GCP, Python) and challenging work. Complete autonomy. Huge emphasis on personal development and growth: £1k annual budget & monthly learning days. Flexible working ie. from anywhere, at hours that suit me. Lots of socials, food, trips to the pub. Made some of my closest friends here. Very flat structure. Everyone believes in the founder's vision, everyone has a right to an opinion and everyone is cared about. Constantly encourage to celebrate good work and company wins (regularly in the form of food). Great salary and I've had multiple pay rises when I didn't expect them. Opportunity to move into other areas of the business, manage others, go to networking events, travel abroad for client meetings, speak at conferences or webinars. Multiple things to bring cheer during Covid: "wellness days" every few months, a hamper at Christmas, a "pimp my desk" competition with £500 budget, online experiences like escape rooms, Dishoom breakfasts and wine tasting. Founders recognise the importance of keeping an office base when we move back to normal life, so the social aspect should continue.
Cons
Potential to get fat off office snacks. Also not sure when I'm ever going to leave?
