Pros

Snacks are nice…that’s about it, and they even became as cheap as possible in that regard. I will also say, they have a great way of making you not notice the toxicity for a while, but then the layers will be inevitably peeled back. It’s cool to have a group of people you’re trauma bonded with who share similar sentiments and horror stories.

Cons

First off all of the positive reviews here or any other place are fake and heavily coerced. You can tell by how many positive reviews came in such a short timespan. Instead of improving the company, they will rather attempt to hide the truth by overloading glassdoor with fake positive reviews. BELIEVE THE BAD REVIEWS! I’d know this because the Founder (Dutch Mendenhall) said word for word on a company call, that “if you haven't already gotten your money shackles book and done your review right, I, I am literally telling you you won't work here” (I have the video) while sitting right next to the other Founder (Amy Vaughn) who is extremely verbally abusive, and also upper management will follow up and call you out to let you now you’re on the verge of being fired for not spending your own money leaving a fake review (FYI, he did not even write the book himself). There also seems to be substance abuse involved with upper management. Accounting is a crap show and most accountants will leave after seeing behind the curtain; they also seem to be commingling funds and that’s just the tip of the iceberg. Everything about the company is fake and embellished to maintain a certain image. You will never have any semblance of a sense of security working here (which is clearly the intent). You will get fired for no reason at all, and for legal purposes they will offer you hush money in the form of a severance to ensure you don’t sue for wrongful termination. You will be apart of a never ending carousel where you’ll be sucked dry and tossed to the side. I know someone that got fired and the company’s reasoning was to “set an example” to light a fire under other workers (fear tactics) right after this person was promoted (promotions are rare). Also, there have been times where people uproot their life and move across the country for the company only to be fired shortly after. The company is fueled by nepotism so not only will you have to focus on your job, you’ll have to play politics as well, so if you aren’t apart of that “family” or friends of the founders, then good luck. If you are, feel free to treat people however, do whatever, (or no work at all). You will feel left out and isolated especially when it comes to certain privileges. You will never see a pay increase no matter what and they will look at you crazy for having the audacity to ask and you will be dissed on company calls by the founder. If you get a sign-on bonus, or any assistance you will have to fight tooth and nail to get it. Broken promise after broken promise as they mean absolutely nothing here. The better you do, the more they clamp down on you (the founders wife felt comfortable enough to tell employees where they HAD TO eat their lunch, also the COO is an absolute control freak; think an extra 10 hours per week and someone checking off your timing and attendance like school kids). Things change at the drop of a hat with no regard for the employees. The schedule went from Hybrid, to 5 days in-office 9am to 4pm, to 9am to 6pm all within the span of a month or so (certain people did not have to abide by the change obviously). Unlimited PTO was taken away and if you worked less than a year you only get 5 days, which being sick will count towards. There was pushback about the sick days counting after someone came to work extremely sick with their sick child as well, which the Founder recanted verbally just for HR to reaffirm that being sick will indeed count as PTO later on. The Founder even made a joke basically stating that you’re lucky if you even make it a year here. There will be many jokes about being fired. This company celebrates evicting people from their homes. This place will take a heavy toll on your mental health and any good habits you have outside of work will cease to exist, you will become a culture-less robot who only produces for the company. You will be given impossible tasks and deadlines where you can’t win no matter what. You have to screenshot and document all communication because they will say one thing, and after you do it you get scolded and told that you were directed to do something else (this is an extremely common occurrence). You will then be reprimanded for bringing up documented interactions to prove your case. It’s a lose-lose. After you’re done here, you will need to detox from all of the trauma. I realized this is getting lengthy as I can go on forever, but you get the message, save your mental and go somewhere else if possible, if you are hired, start looking for better opportunities IMMEDIATELY (unless you’re apart of the ‘cool crowd’). You’d be surprised how bad a job could actually be, but this company embodies the stereotypical toxic culture, but worse!

Pros

- Good vibes in the office. I enjoyed working with the management and all the coworkers. - Nice office. New, clean, spacious, and well-lighted. - Employee relations. Monthly lunches, drinks and snacks in the breakroom, holiday- or culture-themed activities, book study group, yoga etc. - Management. There used to be a time when processes were not clear and document organization was not perfect, but then the company started initiatives to get things into order and it really helped.

Cons

Not really. As an employee I felt well taken care of.
