Pros

The brand name is well-known in the UK, which initially helps attract clients. They offer some basic training and marketing materials, and the franchise model can benefit first-time salon owners who need initial structure. Some managers and educators were supportive on a personal level, despite the wider organisational issues

Cons

The franchise provided very little real support and failed to understand the operational differences between regions. Most decisions were based solely on their experience in London, with no consideration for geographic, demographic, or competitive realities in other cities. They applied the same model everywhere, even when it clearly didn’t fit. Franchisees were treated more like branch managers than independent business owners. This lack of flexibility and awareness contributed to many franchisees eventually leaving the network

Pros

Emotional satisfaction. Being a hairdresser provides a genuine opportunity to touch the lives of people in more ways than one. ... Independence. People value independence, be it as a society or in their profession. ... Become a multifaceted personality. As a hairdresser, you do not just develop one set of skills.

Cons

Some disadvantages include taking responsibility of making someone look better and making sure the client is happy. Sometimes a client will not be happy with your service. There is a lot of competition that charges competitive rates. Probably the most popular disadvantage is a lack of health insurance and benefits.
