Pros
The work in government contracting is diverse, but the declining funds from the federal govt mean that you have to fight to keep your project work.
Cons
There is a lot of underlying sexism that goes on, even at the highest levels. I was at the cafeteria and even overheard the CEO of the company say to his colleague..."where are they gonna go...this is the best gig out there so we don't need to worry about salary increases." This floored me---as his persona online is much different.
