The job itself is easy really, no training is required. In fact no training was given

If your face does not fit, then don't bother. They have an "inner circle" of employers so don't even bother trying to break into that. Seriously, I mean it when if your face does not fit, an employee was deliberately not placed customer facing because they did not like the way the person looked, even though they had enormous experience.
